The problem
High barriers into angel investing
Angel investing can seem quite scary when you are new to it. Large ticket sizes, "exclusive" networks, high risk and a lot of jargon often puts women* off investing in start-up ventures.
Female founders can't access early-stage capital
Female founded start-ups are often seen as high-risk and face greater challenges than their (male) peers to access the capital needed to grow their businesses.
Women-centered businesses are seen as niche markets
With too many cocks - oops we mean cooks- in the VC kitchen, femtech start-ups are often undervalued and underinvested in, despite the many unmet needs of almost 3.5 billion women* globally.
We believe it's time for a feminist, financial revolution.
At HerShare we believe that getting more women into angel investing could just be the key to closing the gender gap, with female founders and the femtech industry the right channel to make these changes.
